What is it all about?
When building works require an element of design, or are large and / or complex it is always in the clients and contractors interests to have the works fully defined and controlled so as to minimise the risk of dispute, escalating costs and unacceptable workmanship.
The role is very flexible and depends on the size and nature of the planned works, the clients in-house experience, budget and the need for control of time / cost.
Why might you need us?
We provide a full range of project management services for a variety of construction work.
Our services can be tailored to suit the client’s requirements and include building design, liaising with other construction specialists such as structural engineers, mechanical and electrical designers and acoustic engineers to provide a complete design package.
We will usually provide a detailed specification under a building contract and tender this to selected contractors so that you can be assured of value for money before appointing a contractor.
We can fulfil the role of Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent as applicable to the contract selected. This role can include:-
- Supervision of works to ensure quality of workmanship;
- Issuing any necessary variations to the contract;
- Design evolution management;
- Certification of stage and final payments;
- Certification of practical completion;
- Overseeing the defects period and sign off.
Our services can include statutory applications in respect of Building Regulation submissions and obtaining planning consent where required.
